Biography Klaus Rätzke

Sometime in the last Millenium Klaus Rätzke was born and grew up down in the South of Germany.

He then studied Physics in Göttingen from 1985 to 1990 and finished his Phd in Physics in 1993 on diffusion in metallic glasses. In 1994 he moved to Kiel and became, after a Post-Doc stay at Cambridge, UK in 1996, a permanent scientific staff member in the Group of Prof. Faupel in Kiel. He got his Habilitation in 2002 and was appointed extraordinary Professor in 2009. Besides teaching and organizational duties he is familiar with topics in metal physics, thin films and several analytical methods.
