International Graduate Programs in Materials Science
The two graduate courses in materials science at Kiel University Materials Science and Engineering and Materials Science and Business Administration are independent courses, each consisting of 4 terms. They are built on the basis of our bachelor's degree courses Materials Science but can also be chosen by students of related subjects with bachelor's degrees (or similar) in i.e. physics or chemistry. The varying entry qualifications are a result of the diversity of the subject and a rarity of special bachelor's degree courses in the area of materials science. The programs have an international character.
For a short explanation of the character of PhD studies in Germany see here.
Modern engineering has innumerable kinds of different materials at its disposal. The KielMAT International master's degree programs focus on functional or operational materials for solving problems in modern sensor technology, micro electronics, energy technology as well as on biocompatible or optics materials. See our chairs here.
Basic research, material development, analysis and process engineering are combined with topics such as economic viability and environmental issues to form modern technical engineering courses of study.
The master's degree programs of KielMAT International are accreditied until 2024.
