Composite Materials

The Chair for Composite Materials (ComMat), established in 2023, conducts research in the field of smart materials for energy harvesting, energy storage, and detection/sensing technologies. We pursue the transition of emerging (opto)electronic technologies from research laboratories and niche markets into mainstream society, seamlessly integrating them into energy-efficient buildings, wearable electronics, Internet of Things, and healthcare devices. Our interdisciplinary research explores fundamental aspects, device processing and performance as well as stability challenges using experimental and theoretical methods.
