The Chair for Bioinspired Materials and Biosensor Technologies is an interdisciplinary and international research group with a longstanding expertise in bioinspired materials and biosensor technologies.

Our group consists of chemists, physicists, chemical engineers, electronics engineers, materials scientists, biomedical engineers, molecular biologists, food scientists and biotechnologists.

Our main research areas cover biosensor technologies; functional materials and their application in (bio)chemical sciences; fabrication and development of lab-on-a-chip systems for biological applications; nanomaterials/biomaterials applications in food, environmental and health sciences; computational chemistry and ligand design; synthesis and characterization of biomimetic materials.
