Research

Maike Wegner received her M.Sc. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Kiel University. Her work in the Inorganic Functional Materials Group is funded by the Reinhart-Koselleck-project "Crystallographically Compatible Shape Memory Ceramics" and is focused on ferroelectric materials, espacially Barium Titanate- and Lead Zirconate-based bulk materials as well as thin films. She is investigating the correlations between crystallographic compatibility of crystal structures and phase transition related properties like thermal hysteresis, pyroelectricity or electric field induced phase transformations.
