Frequently asked questions On this page we have summarized some of the questions we are frequently asked about the first steps to be taken after the enrollment for the degree program and provided answers. Please check first whether your request can be answered in this way. If this is not the case, please contact the responsible academic advisor, our Service Center or our Examination Office.

Where can I find initial information about my degree program?

IPlease note the information you will receive from the University's International Center and the Service Center of the Faculty of Engineering during the enrollment process.

What steps do I have to take after enrolling for the degree programme?

Please take the following steps:

  • Activate your stu-mail address
  • Create your timetable in UnivIS
  • Register at OpenOLAT and log in to the desired courses

 

Further details

You will be provided the access to your personal student e-mail address (stu-mail) and the respective password for access (“Computer Center PIN” = RZ PIN) after you have successfully enrolled in the degree program. It is important that you activate this personal e-mail address as soon as possible. Please find further information in a video by the International Center on the student mail.

If you need an introduction to UnivIS, the campus managment system HISinOne and the OLAT system, watch this video from the International Center on Class Scheduling, Registration and Exams, Kiel University.

Furthermore, please register on the online platform OpenOlat. Many lecturers  use this online platform for their courses. After you have clicked on the link and opend the online platform you can - if necessary - adjust the language selection in the upper right corner.
