On this page we have summarized some of the questions we are frequently asked about the courses offerend and the course registration and provided answers. Please check first whether your request can be answered in this way. If this is not the case, please contact the responsible academic advisor, our Service Center or our Examination Office.
Please note that this is an international degree program with applicants from Germany, the EU and non-European countries. Prospective students from the different countries sometimes have different questions. Therefore, do not be surprised if individual FAQs are not relevant to you personally.
Where do I get information on the courses offered for my degree program? |

In UnivIS - the Online Information System of Kiel University - you will find all courses that are offered at Kiel University. You can adjust the language selection in the upper right corner. Further detailsAmong other things, the UnivIS portal provides information on lecturers, course times and rooms. You will also find information on whether registration is required for course participation. You can access the course offers of the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering by selecting the menu item "Lecture Directory" in the field "Education" (bottom left). Then select "Faculty of Engineering" on the next page and "Department of Electrical and Information Engineering" on the following page. You will then receive an overview of the degree programs offered by the Institute. If you select one of the degree programs, you will receive information about the courses offered for it. How to register for courses? |
When you check the courses you want to attend in the current semester in UnivIS (see first question in this section) you will get the information whether and in what form a registration for these course is required. |
What is the last date for course registration? |
If registration is required for a course, please check the UnivIS entry (see first question in this section) of the respective module to find out by which date this registration is possible. Further detailsEspecially for lab courses and seminars, the places are limited and are scheduled based on the number of registrants. Therefore, for lab courses and seminars it is almost impossible to register after the deadline. For most lectures and tutorials, the number of seats is not limited. However, if you register after the deadline, you will miss the start of the courses and could lose your connection right at the beginning. |
