First steps after enrollment for the degree programme

Where can I find initial information about my degree programme?

Please consider the information you received from us together with your letter of admission. Among other things, this includes the date for the "First Semester Welcome for Master's Students of the Institute of EE&IT" at the Faculty of Engineering of Kiel University.

Since in the current summer semester 2020 the first semester welcome event cannot take place as usual and can only be made up for when attendance events are permitted again, we have provided you with the slides of the planned welcome event in advance under this link.

Newcomers winter semester 2020/21: We like to inform you that there will be an official Welcome for the Newcomers  via zoom meeting. This Welcome Meeting will also give you the possibilty to ask further questions which might occur by then.

What registrations do I have to make after enrollment for the degree programme?

After you have successfully enrolled in the degree programme you will be provided by the International Center of Kiel University the access to your personal student e-mail address (stu-mail) and the respective password for access (“Computer Center PIN” = RZ PIN). It is important that you activate this personal e-mail address as soon as possible.

Furthermore, please register on the online platform OpenOlat. Many lecturers will probably use this online platform for their courses. After you have clicked on the link and opend the online platform you can adjust the language selection in the upper right corner.

Newcomers winter semester 2020/21: It may be though, that even if you have selected a lecture and also checked the time table as per subject selection on UNIVIS, that you cannot complete Lecture Registration. The reason therfore can be that some lectures are not fully ready prepared/uploaded in OLAT, as lectures do not start before November. If this is the case, please try again in a few days or a week or so.
