Registering for the Electrical Engineering and Information Technology degree programme

The degree programme is not restricted admission. Admission takes place on fixed dates. You can find current dates such as the start and end of the semester under semester dates.

Applying for the Business Management degree programme at Kiel University

The Electrical Engineering, Information Technology and Business Management degree programme is subject to a university-internal admission procedure. You must therefore apply to Kiel University. It is generally only possible to start the business management degree programme in the winter semester. The application deadline for the winter semester is roughly in June each year.

Industry internship

We urgently recommend completing the 8-week basic internship at a suitable company before starting your degree programme. In exceptional cases, however, the internship can also be completed during the lecture-free periods.

You must apply for an internship at appropriate companies yourself, and ensure that the points listed in the internship regulations for the basic internship are also available at the company you select. Companies themselves usually request the internship regulations from the university.

Mathematics refresher course

New students are offered a mathematics refresher course before each winter semester to bring them back up to speed on mathematics skills from school. You can find information on and the contents of this refresher course at:

Information about the mathematics refresher course

This course is generally held in the last two weeks before lectures begin (that is, as from the beginning of October). Participation in the course is voluntary but highly recommended to ease the transition into the first few lectures.

Informational meeting of the Engineering Departmental Student Organisation

The Engineering Departmental Student Organisation generally has an informational meeting for first-semester students on the last two days before lectures start. This covers getting to know the campus, tips for studying, visiting labs and a barbeque evening to get to know everyone.
