Visit From South Korea Delegation

On July 16, 2024, a high-level delegation from South Korea, led by Jungwook Lim, Deputy Minister, Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Gyou-Cheol Hwang, President of Green Energy Institute and Sang Gu Kang, Director General of Energy Industry Department in #Jeollanamdo has visited the Chair.

This visit aims to establish groundbreaking cooperation with Fraunhofer ISIT in the cutting-edge field of power electronics. The delegation's agenda included an engaging workshop in #Kiel and a tour of the state-of-the-art facilities at Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel utilized by ISIT. 

This collaboration sets the stage for a dynamic and prosperous alliance, driving forward the integration of renewable energy and the energy transition. Join us as we embark on this thrilling journey towards a sustainable future!

Research

  • Our research is focused on the design of high efficient and reliable PWM-based power converter architectures (single-cell, multi-cell, multilevel), their modelling and control to exploit commercial as well as new power semiconductor devices with minimum over design.
    We develop controllers for electric drives and we are particularly skilled in the integration of renewable energy systems into the electric grid.
