Semester abroad

Tips

The most important thing when planning studies abroad is to start planning early, so that the necessary applications can be submitted on time without rushing. Experience tells us that the planning for a foreign study trip should start one year before the trip. A visit to the corresponding informational meeting at the International Center at Kiel University (held once a semester) is always a good idea! Helpful tips are available on all sorts of topics and consultation appointments can be made.

Organizing studies abroad through ERASMUS is simpler and less complex than trying to apply for admission without ERASMUS, since a professor always plays a type of mediating role in the ERASMUS programme. In addition, there are generally no tuition fees to be paid at the host university and there is financial support. However, that doesn't mean that the project will run by itself. In general, a planning period of one year is to be expected when you would like to study at a university abroad.
