|
Program Overview
Extended abstracts of original work are currently being solicited for the International Workshop on Polymer/Metal Nanocomposites to be held September 22-23, 2003, at the Faculty of Engineering of the Christian-Albrechts University Kiel. The workshop aims at bringing together physicists, chemists, and engineers from academics, and industry who are involved in the development of metal nanoparticles containing polymer composites for functional applications. Presentations range from advanced preparation techniques and new properties resulting from the nanostructure to devices. Theoretical work and computer simulations are also considered. Sufficient time will be allocated after the talks and in separate sessions for discussion.
The technical program will include the following topics (list not comprehensive):

Submission of Extended Abstracts
Prospective authors are invited to submit a camera-ready extended abstract of one page in length or less, including figures and references. Accepted abstracts will be collected in an abstract book. A two-column format with a minimum type size of 10 points should be used, except for the title, authors, and affiliations. Be sure to include author name(s) and address(es) on the paper. Paper size should be 8.5" x 11" with a minimum of 1" left and right margins and 0.85" top and bottom margins. Those who use A4 paper size should use a minimum of 22 mm left, 22 mm right, 30 mm top, and 30 mm bottom margins. Abstracts can be submitted electronically only.
After preparing your abstract, send it as an e-mail attachment to nanoworkshop@tf.uni-kiel.de . Include the submitting author’s contact information (name, company, address, phone, fax, and e-mail) in your message. Two file formats are acceptable: Adobe Acrobat PDF (strongly preferred because it significantly reduces the file size) or MS Word (please deselect the "float over text" option when inserting or pasting objects into your document). Whichever format is used, specify U.S. letter paper (8.5" x 11") with the margin specifications given above and double-check the as-printed appearance of your abstract before sending it. If sending an MS Word document, please use only the "Times New Roman" and "Symbol" fonts.
Please indicate whether you prefer oral or poster presentation. A
final decision will be made by the program committee.
