Frequently asked questions

On these pages we have summarized some of the questions we are frequently asked and provided answers. Please first check whether your request can be answered in this way. If this is not the case, please contact the corresponding study advisor, our service center or our examination office.

Which documents are required for possible assignment to a higher semester?

For a possible placement in a higher semester, please send the following documents to the Examination Office for Electrical and Information Engineering:

  1. A certified copy of the list of your academic achievements to date. You can obtain a corresponding transcript of records from the examination office of your previous university.
  2. The module catalogue belonging to your previous Bachelor's degree program, which shows the time scope, teaching forms, teaching content and learning objectives of the individual modules.
  3. The completed Anrechnungsbescheinigung zur Einstufung in ein höheres Fachsemester (Certificate for Assignment to a Higher Semester; available only in German). This form can be found on the  Student Services website for placement in a higher semester (in German).
  4. A completed application for recognition of study and examination achievements which you can find in the Forms Center of the Examination Office for Electrical and Information Engineering.

 

Further details

As soon as we have the documents from you, we will forward them internally to the responsible person. As a reply you will then receive the result of the possible assignment to a higher semester as well as an overview of the achievements that you can have recognized from your previous studies for your Bachelor's degree studies at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering at Kiel University.
