About the Service Center at the Faculty of Engineering

The Service Center performs numerous tasks that arise at the interface between lecturers and students.

It handles the development, accreditation and administration of the degree programmes for the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and the Institute for Materials Science. It offers study advice for students or prospective students, and acts as the contact point over the course of a degree programme. In the form of tutorials, students gain information about the framework conditions for their degree programmes and detailed regulations in a competent way.

By organising work experience, the Service Center makes it possible for students to collect practical experience in current fields of research and development, in collaboration with the Centre for Materials  Analytics. This collaboration simultaneously gives scientists the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience with society and industry.

Involving  the examination Offices with the Service Center enables fast and direct feedback about the implementation of the degree programmes, which ensures that these can be continuously and consistently adjusted and improved.

The Service Center is a place for students to go for any organisational matters related to their degrees.

Since 2016, the Faculty of Engineering’s Service Center has become a first internal point of contact for international students at the faculty, along with the International-Office-TF (TF Erasmus Office). If you have questions on any of these topics, please feel free to contact  usIf you have more detailed or further questions, please contact Kiel University’s International Center.
